Speech & Debate, Thursday, Sept 17

Hi Vector Students & Parents!

Rather than taking a lot of Vector time to go over announcements, I wanted to cover a few things beforehand to help facilitate our short time together.  Please take time to read ALL the info on these posts each week.  Not only will it make our time more efficient and effective but it will help you be better prepared for success in Speech and Debate this year.

1) Please arrive before Speech & Debate time begins!  We have such a short amount of time together and your coaches have worked hard to plan teaching for you. We must start on time each week!  Make it your habit to arrive 5-10 minutes early each week before Speech 4p and Debate 6p.

2) Please bring your Student Notebook with you each week.  In addition to a great place to keep your scripts or notes, this contains important information about rules and ballots that we will go over.  Each week you may be asked to download and print pages to add to your notebook as well.

3) Parents:  If you haven't paid your registration fees, please do so this week so our wonderful treasurer, Vicki Powell, can close registration for the year.  Also, please remember to bring your medical release forms.

4) We have been granted use of the church building each week as a privilege and the church does not charge us anything to use it.  Please make it your priority and duty to do your part to keep the church clean.  Please pick up any trash you see, and be proactive in taking part in the cleaning duties at the end of each debate night before you leave.  It is on all of us to make sure we bless and honor the pastor and congregation of the church!

5) We are looking for someone to help co-direct our Vector Speech Tournament.  If you are gifted or enjoy administration and would like to be more involved behind the scenes, we need you!  We need someone soon, and all training for this job will be provided.  This is a great job for someone who cannot be present at all the meetings for coaching!  Fulfilling this position, earns a $100 credit toward this year's registration fees.  Please talk to Kimberly Millhouse or Terri Adams if you are interested.

See you soon!
Kimberly Millhouse
